What these feeders are not for:

• Deterring grackles and larger birds (they learn how to flap and hop to lighten up) – though it may slow them down
• Deterring raccoons, bears, or deer
• Deterring chipmunks and red squirrels (though adding washers or weights to the feeder will usually prevent red squirrels from being able to access the seed)
• Deterring black birds that are the same weight as the birds you wish to attract
