Well, birders, we are officially one week away from the official start of the spring season here in the Northern Hemisphere. While we love everything the winter season has to offer, including some amazing birding opportunities, we just LOVE the spring season.

In addition to welcoming back our spring and summer birds (many have arrived already!), we welcome back green grass and a plethora of outdoor activities and conquests. As many of you know, our love for our feathered friends was naturally formed in the great outdoors, whether it be running around the farm during our formative years, spending time locally at amazing locations such as the Mill of Kintail, or escaping to our camp in Northern Frontenac.

While birding has been the focus of our mission thus far at the Gilligallou, we are expanding into the outdoor space with some amazing new products. Ranging from bushcraft-inspired tools such as our Council Tool Axes, our Canadian-made campfire grills and now, into more camping products such as our line of Peregrine Gannet Tents.

Located in picturesque Sandy, Utah, Peregrine has been making durable and high quality products suited for the outdoors for a number of years. After conducting extensive research in the industry, it was a company we simply could not ignore.

As such, we are proud to introduce their line of durable tents, no available both in our online and Almonte stores.

These tents are tested and true and have gone through years of adjustments and research and development to help make them durable enough to withstand the rigors of long-term use. Suited perfectly for anyone new to camping all the way to seasoned camping veterans, these tents are great entry-model option for those looking for a tough, durable and easy-to-set-up option.

In addition to the solid construction of the tent, they feature YKK zippers, aluminum poles and even feature a quick set up option for those times when you need shelter quickly. Branded as the company's Fast Flight™ mode, these tents can be quickly assembled with just the footprint, poles and fly, increasing available room and lowering the weight of the tent. These tents also feature a pair of peak vent to help keep conditions dry and comfortable in humidity.

The Peregrine Gannet Tents are available from the Gilligallou in 2, 3 or 4 person configurations and can be purchased online or in-store. If you have any questions, be sure to stop in and test one out for yourself!
