Birders on Bikes, one of the fun events celebrated as part of Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month in June of each year. A group gathers at the parking lot behind the Gilligallou Bird store, Heritage Court 14 Mill Street, Almonte to start their day’s excursion of biking and birding. The pace is easy, stopping many times over 20 km to spot or hear the many birds. From osprey to indigo bunting can be sighted on this day, a very successful 2013 recorded 53 different species.
